caught the shrimp with the trap

it was a peppermint shrimp... but the same should work for a mantis
take a 12 oz soda bottle that is cleaned out, and right where the bottle stars to get narrow towards the top, cut it off. turn it inside out and tape it so it wont fall apart, then fill it with tank water and put some food in it. then turn the lights off and wait

What kinda food would you suggest to put in the bottle? would frozen brine work you think? And im not sure i understand what you mean buy turning it inside out.

i just put in the frozen stuff i had, as long as your shrimp eats it then it should work. im not sure what mantis shrimp eat, im guessing almost anything.
i drew a paint picture. the bottle looks like a 40 of beer but i did my best.
Think about it like this. it allows for the shrimp to go inside, but it cant get out very easily. cut the bottle all the way around where i drew the line then put it going inside the bottle. quite simple, yet effective
