cause of fish death?

we found my green chromis dead under a rock. i saw him this morning doing fine. he looked like he was all riped to pieces. i have a yellow watchman goby 2 small hermits and an emerald crab

That is all that is in the tank???...His body looked like it was ripped to pieces becase it was probably eaten on after death...as to why it died????

ive been checking the water lvls and he was under a rock he didnt come out to eat i was gona check under the rock but i had leave. i only have that small amount because the tank is only like 3 weeks old

3 weeks...maybe it didn't cycle completely yet...but your others are fine so IDK...sometimes fish just die. There is nothing in the tank aggressive enough to kill him. Everything eats the dead so he looked chewed up.
wait another couple of weeks and try again to add a fish.

Just thought I'd ask.....have you been testing yoru water? and if so...what are your water parameters?

my mom is givin me alot of money cause she baught my bro a laptop so im going to buy some more live rock tommorow and make my refugium but in like 2 weeks im buying 2 true perculas and some coral

yea ive been testing like every other way anyway the goby wouldve died first if somthing was wrong

ph around 8.4 live rock was fully cured there was i guy seling everything in his tank he had fish in it and there was coraline algea

So you basically just transferred his stuff into your tank?
Good deal.....As long as your water is testing good, then as Flower said above...wait a couple of weeks, and go for the clowns. Good luck

yea meozer its the stuf on the live rock forum i was gona buy more but my lfs was closed today. there like a litlle store but there nice and the only good one around i checked theres no other place with saltwater fish besides ***** (but would u buy fish at ***** especialy sw)
