How often do you feed them? And how much.
Do you have cc stars or reef friendly stars?
last time I was around a star for any length of time I was about 7, so I don't remember much about them doing really anything. I want to have stars, do they all do this or only cc stars and ones that have thick bodies (as apposed to brittle stars who have a disk with long spindly arms).

Yes, I have a cc stars as well as many serpent stars.
The cc stars are very active in a tank and are a joy to for the kids. But they are NOT reef safe and will eat anything it can catch as they do move pretty fast for a star.

Water Parameters are these:
temp-78
salinity-1.024
ph-8.1
nitrate-5
nitrite-0
amonia-0
alkalinity-11.5
skimmer used, tank hangon filter, powerhead- the average. Need to upgrade lighting to better reach bottom of 44gal petagon, will be doing ASAP.

I would bump up your specific gravity to 1.025-1.026...how do you measure it (refractometer or hydrometer?). How long did you acclimate? Do you know the specific gravity of the place you got it from? I would keep the diet diversified, including algae wafers, shrimp pellets, etc. They are rather omnivorous.
My concern in pentagon and hex tanks is circulation and gas exchange. What circulation do you have on the tank, near the bottom?

Thank you
I will up the sg.
LFS has weekly tested my water. Do small water change(10-20% about 2-3 weeks)
Acclimated for about 1 hour by adding water to bag about every 15 mins or so.
I dont know the sg where he came from.
Are you saying that fresh shrimp, scallops, mysis shrimps are not real good diet?
I had airbubble wall and powerhead, now only powerhead at top and gonna get another to put in middle of tank area.
