sorry for any trouble this may cause anyone but...
i see cryptic references to "a popular auction site" and "i know a site"....
whats up with that?..
Im searching for rules and cant find any and the faq doesnt seem to outline regulations on free exchange of information concerning the mere mention of potential competitors to the host of this board... censorship?...
could someone point me to "the rules"? I would like to know what Im dealing with here.
It seems to me that SWF would encourage "comparison shopping". In my experience they are quite competitive and really have nothing to worry about..... and probably shouldnt have policy that implies that they do...

to quote the rules...
"Please do not post any links to any websites when using the Saltwaterfish.com Message Boards. Please do not refer to other websites or request product information from other members via email."
recently when I posted a link to the florida fish and wildlife commission... did I break the rules and risk my membership? It seems that I did.... WOW

Typically we just remove the link. Some mods will go to the painstaking work of checking the link out to see if it's appropriate to leave. That's an exception though. Usually the only banning happens with spammers or really obscene stuff.
