Chaeto and fuge problem.

I have a HOB fuge with PS and LS and LR. Had chaeto in the fuge but after about 3 weeks, came home found that the chaeto floated to the top and out through the overflow return back to tank. Chaeto got caught in the filter and powerheads.
Since chaeto is free floating and wont attach to anything, how can I get it to stay put?

Use a small rock or safe weight to hold it down. You will always get some of it coming off the main bunch, but this should help.
