Chaeto as filter?

I just had this idea pop in my head of putting chaeto in my overflow box as a kind of filter. Anyone think that it would do anything good that way? Or is it stupid?

Nope.. that will work.. its kinda like a HOB fuge. It will need light though...

If it gets sucked down the overflow it will cause drainage problems. I personally would not.

I agree you would have to monitor it pretty well and make sure it does not clog up your overflow..... Why wouldn't you just use it in a refugium in your sump?? :thinking:

Just put a prefilter over your overflow and you should be fine... and get a clip on light or a submersible
