chaeto dying

Any tips on why my chaeto keeps dying. Here is a pic of my current setup. This is my third try. I just noticed today a few pieces are turning clear and breaking. I run my lights reverse cycle from main tank. (14 hours on) I had calpera in main tank that grew great until I added a foxface that ate it all in a week. Any help would be great.

get Kent Iron
iron supplement useful for caulerpa and all calcareous algaes. 16 oz. treats 4,700 gallons.

is it submerged? it looks like it's not under water...
and FYI caulerpa will attach itself to your LR and is a pain to get it off. If you don't mind it all over, then go for it, but i prefer chaeto instead.

My Chaeto is doing quite well under 14hrs of light NON-reverse cycle and in low water flow, So i cant think of why you are not getting it to grow,, maybe because i have some nitrates for it to "feed" mine are like 20-30ppm how are your trates?

I just bought some today and will try, Do you think putting some eggcrate under to raise it off the bottom would help?
