I took some cheato out of my fuge for the first time and droppped it in the tank. It was pretty funny how the tank cleared out. My Naso and yellow tang were scared of it a swam away from it. So then I stick it to the side of the tank with my mag float and they chomped it. The next day all of it was gone.
So long winded way to say yes!

SOME tangs love it,, my yellow and blue love it, dont be alarmed from stringy fecies, its normal.
