chalice coral?

does a chalice grow like a monti cap does? or does it encrust? when i look at pics of them they almost look like caps but the one i just got from swf.com looks like it's encrusting.

I have seen it do both, but it is far more common for it to encrust.

LOL .. you don't have to feed, but it won't grow as fast.
They're like acans, if you don't feed, they barely grow, and you can feed them in the same manner. It took me a few days to "train" mine to start accepting food, but once they got used to it, they accept food all the time.

its probably a filter feeder, i mix freeze dried phyto plankton in with the food i feed my corals and use my turkey baster to squirt it on my chalice and other corals
