HELLO,
I HAVE CC IN MY TANK NOW AND WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE TO SAND. IS THIS POSSIBLE AND HOW? MY TANK IS ALREADY RUNNING. I GOT THE CC WITH THE TANK WHEN I BOUGHT IT. PLEASE ADVISE.

I did it...definitely worth it. I have a post around here somewhere with the step by step process I used to change my tank over...look for a post called "What type of substrate do I have" by keldog.

HOW LONG DO I WAIT BEFORE I PUT MY FISH BACK IN? DO I JUST WAIT FOR THE SAND TO SETTLE? I LIKE THE SAND LOOK BETTER. AND FROM WHAT I HEAR ITS ALOT LESS MAINTENCE. WILL I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF MY FISH ADAPTING?

YEA I FOUND A POST ABOUT IT. THANKS. MAYBE THIS WEEKEND I WILL CHANGE OVER. IS THE SAND AT THE PET STORES WORTH ANYTHING. I WAS GOING TO USE SOME THAT I SEEN ON ANOTHER POST ON HERE. SOME THAT YOU CAN BUY AT A HARDWARE STORE. IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE OR IS THAT JUST ONE OF THOSE THING WHERE FISH STORES TRY TO MILK YOUR MONEY?
THANKS.

Well...the one at the LFS claims to be live...but all it MIGHT have is bacteria...no pods. And it's about $1 per pound. The Southdown Playsand from Home Depot is $5 for 50 pounds.

Length of tank in inches X Width of tank in inches X desired sandbed depth in inches X .0579=pounds of sand needed.
Looks like about 200 pounds.
