--- changing and clownfish

how long does it take 4 clowns 2 change ---. I have 1 female still in QT and want 2 get her a new partner, is it possible that if i pick out a male 4 her that he may change into a female in the bag on the way home or on his own during quarantine?
I was thinking mayb I should get 3 clowns, quarantine them 2gether, the pick out which 1 of them is the female and then keep 1 male 4 her and take the other male 4 the other clownfish I already have.
Any suggestions?

it wont happen that fast. just make sure the one you get is smaller than the one in the tank. there might be some aggression between the two at first, but the small one should twitch infront of the female to let her know he knows whos the boss (female).

is that what the twitching is? ive got 8 percs in my tank and was wondering what that was...

yes. if you have 8 clowns of the same kind i would start taking them out. what size is your tank? they only like to be in 1 pair in a tank

they seem happy to me and have been doing fine... are there signs that say they arent doing fine?

theyll start killing each other or get together to harass the ones singled out. you might pull it off if you have a lot in a small environment, but more than likely someone will die off

i bought a new clown 4 my old clown and the female started twitching real hard until finally he started twitching. why?
