changing from crushed coral to sand or nothing at all?

I have been thinking about switching out my crushed coral and either putting nothing in its
place or sand. I like the appearance of sand and would like to get some organisms that
live within it, but that would mean a whole new filtration system. I currently have the
crushed coral with the two under gravel filter, 4 tubes all with power heads on them
circulating water through and a 3 stage sand man power filter off the back. The main
reason I want to switch out the crushed coral is because of the fish relocating the pieces
of coral throughout the tank and some even ending up on my leather coral.....

I think that it is your call, whether you want to get a new filtration system and the sand,or nothing, or you could keep the coral and have it on top of your leather. I think you just kinda got to decide.

To make life really easy. Run to your local harware store and pick up a very fine mesh screen made from fiberglass. After doing a good vacum job on your crushed coral lay the screen down and add you sand on top of the screen. Problem solved and no major reconstruction.
