Changing Salt ?

Would it be OK to just start using a different brand of salt? I have been using IO for a year now. I believe the IO is adding phosphates into the water. I have a little bit left(IO salt) and would like to know if I should go ahead and buy a different brand and mix the 2 or just start using a different brand?
Thanks

I very much doubt the salt is the reason for the phosphate but... switching by doing water changes with new stuff I don't think will hurt anything.

I've been using it for two years- had phosphates for a couple of months from over feeding but not from the salt mix... have 0 again now... still using IO

I have been using IO for years and am thinking of switching as well, but for a different reason. Lately, my freshly mixed saltwater has been high in alkalinity and I've eliminated everything else that could be causing the problem.

I am pretty sure its not over feeding I have 1 fish in a 55 gallon and only put frozen cyclo-peeze in the tank once every other week(if that often).
