20 gallons everyday....... just kidding I have always wanted to say that.
it totaly depends on your bioload but for your average aquarium 20% bi weekly is a great waterchange scedual. some do 10% bi weekly some do 20% once a month, though in my opinion thats a little lax for maintaining strict water quality.

its entirely up to you... and it also depends on your inhabitants and how your water perameters are... if you have messy eaters i would recommend lower volume more frequent changes... just get a system and stick to it... and def use RO or RO/Di water for changes and top offs...

On a 90 gallon tank I do a 10% water change per week. Not to much to handle and not to little to make a difference.

i do 13% weekly, and that's not mandatory cuz i have went for a couple months without one with no ill effect(this was when my old ro/di unit broke)
i'm just dedicated to my weekly rituals, I have "OCD" when it comes to that..plus it only takes me a couple minutes..

I also do a bit more than 10% per week. I usually change out 5 gals in my 46 per week. My fish love water change day...well, after the change. They just always are so active afterwards. I love doing it because of that and the way my tank looks after the change.
