As for the poster who claims the Chargers can't match up talent wise that is bunk. The Pats play with better chemistry and schemes but they don't have far and away better talent. I would say the Chargers D across the board is younger, faster, and better. Moss is the best WR in this game, so point for Pats, but the Gates, Jackson, Chambers combo isn't too far behind Watson, Moss, Welker. Brady vs Rivers hands down Brady, but Tomlinson vs Maroney hands down Tomlinson.
All in all the talent isn't tilting to one side, injuries are hitting the Chargers. The Chargers got beat up especailly on offense, that is why I think it will be the Pats but a close game.
I picked Patriots in a blow out.
Patriots talent i think is alot better than the Chargers
QB-Brady> Rivers (any question?)
RB-Maroney and Faulk< LT Turner (dont underestimate Pats backs tho, Maroney big game against the Jags)
TE- Watson and Brady= Gates (gates hurt, wont be 100%, injury got worse, Watson i tihnk is the most underrated TE)
WR- Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gafney> Chambers, Jackson, others (Moss best reciver, Welker best solt receiver, Stallworth could be number 1 WR on any other team)
O-Line- Pats> Chargers (Pats could be best O-line infootball)
Defence- Pats= Chargers ( Pats are experinced but have good younger players too, Samuel could be best CB in the NFL. Chargers younger and aggressive)
Coaching- Patriots> Chargers (Bellick is a genius)
Bottom line
Score- Patriots 38 Chargers 20

Sorry Mike, I was at the Fiesta Bowl, your Sooners got their lunch handed to them by a superior football team, I was a fan of neither team, just stating a fact there....Same way the Chargers will be beaten by a better team.

Well we lost partly because of the fact they were better, but if you look at the past two bowl games, we came in over-confident, under-prepared, and not fired up. The other teams wanted it more, worked for it more, and earned it.
Just saying, I got a feeling we're going to take the Pats by suprise. And part of that may be beacause of all the sports fans saying we're going to get our butts kicked.

Sorry Mikey, OU is a fantastic football program (probably top 5 overall in the country), but they have been embarrassed in their last 4 BCS games, LSU, USC, then losing to Boise, and this year to UVA. I don't think OU would ever be over-confident after losing to Boise, especially against WVU whom was a stupid lose to Pitt away from playing for the National Championship.
Pats are too well coached to go in over confident

Yeah I agree about OU, we're one of the best football programs out their, but we can't get the job done when it matters.
As for as the Pat's coaching staff, yeah they got one of the best head coaches, who in my mind willl definetly try to get his team pre-pared, but it's all up to the team to get fired up and play 110%, which I think San Diego will do. And it's hard to get fired up against a team when everywhere and everyone is saying you'll win.

THe PAts much like Dallas...have come back to the pack regarding performance. SInce they have more overall talent than Dallas and a superiror coaching staff ..they have weathered the storm and won.
If the Chargers can get healthy ....they will give the pats a run and yes, they can beat them.
Would not surprise me at all if the Chargers beat them....but every time I see Norv Turner on the sideline...I wonder how they even won a playoff game

My opinion is that if the chargers can keep the heat on brady they can win. Will they? We will see this weekend. The pats squeaked by a couple of times on teams they should have blown out (I.E. Giants) and the giants had that game won till they got conservitive. You cannot get conservitive on a team like the pats they are just too good (god i hate to say that) You have to stay in bradys face and you have to put him on his back. I think someone should hit brady real good even if you get there a second late the 15 yards isnt going to make much of a difference with an offence like theirs but his mentality would change. Every team who has come close to beating the pats this year has played hard till they got the lead and then tried to hold them. You cannot hold the pats don't even try. They have no running game for the most part and they know that and don't try to hide it. They will show you their hand and say "here it is try to beat us." The only question i have (as i have not followed the chargers at all this year) Can they realisticly outscore a team that averages 36.7 points per game while only allowing 15.9 on average?
