cheap and easy moonlights

I found a nightlite today at walmart for 2.87 that has three blue leds in it. It has a photoelectric eye that comes on automatically when it gets dark. Just plug it in and hang it above your tank. I am gonna take the plastic cover off of it. But it looks like quite the deal for moonlights.
probably three of them would cover a 72 inch tank for less than $9..

I dont have a canopy on my tank. Mine is in wall, so I will just hang em over the tank by the cord.
I dont know the exact angle of the lights, they seem to be roughly 45*. But they are nice because no timer is needed and they are really bright.

Youre gonna need to post a pic when you get these up and running. This could possibly start a riot if they work like we all hope.

This tread just reminded me of something. In my daughters room we have a Blue LED night light. Pretty bright and cheap too. Got it from Lowes and this sucker thows some light. If you have a canopy you might just need a plug and you are set. Pretty nice light and a really good blue color.

took some pics of it...first two are original
second two are after I cracked off the lense piece using a pair of channel locks. I was mistaken though, there is only one led. I hung it over my tank, and the one in this one is brighter than all four of my other ones on my 29gallon. Can't wait to mount a few of these on my 180

Im pretty handy..just not with electricity... If I bought 2 or 3 of these ,would it be possible to splice them all together so they will run off a single plug??? I do know LEDs dont draw much power. Thanks

Can you post a pic of your tank with those on? Also how would you plug them in if there is no outlet above your tank? Extention cord?
