you know what i just thought of........... you know the solaris lights which are in the grands? they have normal leds right? so why doesn't some one go, get alot of these lights and screw them on to something really close together and try to grow some coral? just frag a piece and see if it lives.
*some one with a little extra cash go and buy a lot of these, screw or glue them on something, go and set up a 10 gallon, bare bottom and put a coral in and see if it grows.
just an idea. pretty cool if someone here does it. i would, but i am low on cash right now and have no corals to frag.

You might be right, I will try.

So I read this thread, I went to my local Wal-Mart, I bought 4 of them and hung over the tank. I think the plan is awesome and probably looks great on small tanks but they dont look good to me compared to the others. Good luck and thanks for the tip but I am not going to use them.

What size tank? Did you take the housing off?

they were on the 65, but it is a very goofey shape and very deep. If you want them 15.00 for all 4 and they are yours.

hmm, at least keep one like I did, IMO, it provides a natural light on part of the reef that gives the fish a chance to be in partial or full darkness when they sleep. I didn't like the entire tank blue either, just too....blue
