In tuff economic times the hobbyist can put together some nice (in my case that’s subjective) rockwork for their tanks.
Living close to the beach gives me an advantage of finding rock at the shoreline. But I am sure good usable rock can be found anywhere.
As is evident in my pictures. I am in no way artistic. I am sure most of the hobbyists can and will do a better job.
1 rock cost 0
12 oysters $9.00 (eat the oysters)
Two-part epoxy used $1.00
TOTAL $10.00 (did I mention I ate the oysters
).
I will post pictures when the rock has matured and I add some coral to the different levels

Exactly what I will do, but I will progressively put the frags higher and higher to acclimate them to the new light level

Really cool idea Joe, did you have to do anything to the oyster shells before using them in your creation?? I mean, besides eating the oysters of coarse

Oh yeah...what was the brand name of the epoxy that you used?

I boiled the shells
Sorry my friend I discarded the packaging it’s a two-part epoxy cream color in the middle and green on the out side you kneed it with your fingers I will get you the name though. I also used crazy glue to hold the shells in place while the epoxy hardened

Nice job Joe. Is the plate secured there? I had always thought that once they were large enought to leave their propagation sites they fell to the sand where they normally reside. I do know that they can and do move by puffing up and pushing off.

They can an will puff up and move WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM THEIR FRIENDS

Henry as you can see you were right my plate decided to move to a new location
