Cheap Fuge?

Hi I just got a 60 Gallon tank and would like to add a refugium to it because I would like to get a Yellow Tang and I don't want him to eat all my plant life seeing that it really helps with the nitrates in my current 20 gallon. Anyway the 60 gallon is not drilled. I was wondering what the cheapest way to go about this would be, drill the tank, or HOB? Does anyone know about what this will run me? I have noticed a few HOB fuges for roughly $100, a little too much for me right now. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You could get a hang on the back overflow box. Or PetConnection in Livonia,Mi (about an hour and a half drive one way from MSU) will drill tanks for 20 a hole or something close to that.

Browse the net and try to find used equipment for sale at a good price. Also the classified in the newspaper is a great source of used less expensive stuff. Good luck.

I recommend the hang on back overflow box down to a DIY fuge under your stand. It's actually quite easy to make and a lot cheaper than $100...

The absolute cheapest way I think would be to make an above tank refugium. You just need a powerhead to move the water from the tank to the fuge and then get a drilled refigum, slap a bulkhead on there and that's it. Of course the downside is that the fuge will probably be visible and for the most part, fuges are nasty looking.
If you wanna go the more practical mainstream route with a fuge under the tank, then I would suggest a drilled tank with an internal overflow. No need to worry about losing siphon with those.
Wish I had done that. I currently use a CPR overflow which works well but the fear of overflow is always in the back of my mind.
