I know a guy in Keller, TX that picked up a LOT for $10, we're talking maybe 15-20 lbs. What's the catch you say? Rock was infected with bubble algae. Still a good deal though, especially if he can get some crabs to get rid of it.
Cheap Live Rock can be hard to find, theres no definite source where you can go to get it, I was so lucky I got mine with my tank, 70 lbs of live rock, maybe more, with a fully functional 75 gallon with pumps and filters and skimmers all for $350, which would have been enough just to cover the live rock.
Shop around and try ----/your local classifieds, check the trading section of the board on here often.
Cheap, good quality live rock can be found, it just takes persistance.

I found some on-line. E-mail me (mcline3@comcast.net). It isn't a SUPER price, but it is cheaper than some i've seen. Nice rock too... i've got some in my tank currently.
HTH.

Find you some base rock ( it is pretty cheap) then add a couple of pieces of good lr and it will become live in time;)

Yup. Just depends on how much time you are willing to wait! Patience is a virtue.

Funny thing happen the other day....I was fueling my F-150 up(dual tanks and a 5.8 liter V-8)...takes a ton of fuel when its near empty...any how as I waited for it to fill up I stood inside the service station and asked each customer that walked in where the cheapest fuel around was ... got some interesting responses...and a few I may wind up doing business with...especially since the manager of the station decided to ask me to leave and quit soliciting information on his competators!!!Now why would he do something like that!!
