Cheap nanocube overflow- not my idea!

Someone posted a great idea for an overflow on a nanocube. Using a cassette tape case. It works great, no more scum on the surface. So I did a little modification and I am going to fabricate this weekend. It will be black plastic or aluminum and should blend in seamlessly with the back of the tank. Aluminum would be easier to deal with when machining, but I 'm not sure about painting. Tell me what ya think:

Did you find some black plastic? I had the same idea- the clear thing stands out like a sore thumb!
Works well but be careful to adjust the height properly. The water level in the sump will drop quite a bit. If you have the stock return pump it may not handle it.

The problem with using 1/8" material is holding on to it. I have a CNC mill that I will be using to make this and I need enough material there to hold on to.
The black plastic I have is polyurathene that I think will work well. Hopefully I will get a chance to cut it next week. When I do I will post pic.

I would love to show you the results, but I can't post the pics!
Is everyone having this problem? Or is just me?

Thanks Laddy. The design works really well and blends nicely. It was crazy how fast the aluminum started to change, it was only in the tank maybe 5 minutes and already has color change. The finished product will be done next week some time. I decided to make it out of plastic and not paint the prototype, too many contamination issues. I will post pics.
Thanks again,
Bob

I'll take one!
Looks great - I was actually trying to brainstorm a cheap way to accomplish this on my 2 gallon cube...
