The only reason I am going to run carbon 24/7 is because I will be injecting ozone into my water. As a safe guard the water must be carbon filtered to take out any remaining ozone before it enters the DT. With this setup, I am told my water will be crystal clear and I will get the most out of my lighting.
If I was not injecting ozone I would run carbon on Friday, and Saturday to polish my water. Then do a water change on sunday to replace any trace materials the carbon took out.
Just my thoughts and opinions though.
