Cheato growth

Can someone please tell me how long does it take to see some growth of cheato in a refuge? How do I know if it is doing bad?

i originally had my cheato under a grow light and the clump gradually got smaller and smaller. i then switched to a regular old light bulb and it is growing like crazy. i think it all depends on lighting and nutrients. just like regular house plants

Hmmmmmm I am using a light bulg that was recomended by someone in this site. I hope that isn't the problem.

I started with maybe a 1QT bag of cheato, within 4 months I was taking out a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff out of my 55 gallon fuge. I use 80watts of URI Aqua D lights.

How long before you started to notice growth?

The very first week.
I know because when I got it I placed it in a collection container with suction cups into my main tank, I wasnt' quite finished with my fuge yet. After about a week of fiddling with the new fuge I went to place the cheato into it and it had grown out of the container quite noticably.
The growth will also depend on lighting, available nutrients..etc..
