Cheato Turning Brown

i got a couple of bags of cheato from a friend a couple weeks ago. when i got it , it was nice and green. since then it has stedily turned brown, i have it in my refugium with a low wattage compact flourescent light on 24-7 .i don't have any nitrates accordding to my weekly test .is this my problem? any comments will be appreciated.....walt

Sounds like your burning it,, because when it dies, it turns white and disappears., Leave lights on either with display OR counter display but NOT 24hrs..I like my Chaeto on w/display.

ok i'll cut back on the lights what should i do about all the brown .leave it alon and see what happens or remove it??? thankx for the reply

Leave it, dont muck with it.. you dont want to stress it any more.. wait and see what happens..
