j21,
That is a nice setup.. What size tank?
Bang,
Do they make the right bulbs for aquari in that style? Or do you just steal the ballast and change endcaps?

The light you have is FAR superior! I wouldn't use that LOA light on anything but a refugium ;) Yours is pretty awesome looking IMO :) I especially like the built in fan.
I was just being a smart a$$, sorry :)

Wamp, it is a 20 gal nano. It uses standard 32watt pc bulbs. Are you looking at my pic or Bang Guy's? I use 2 10k and 2 actinic

Wamp,
The fixture I pictured is a Lights of America 65 watt PC worklight. It is pictured as is comes out of the box. The color is 6500K but it's a very useful refugium light for such a small price. I found it at Walmart. So far I have successfully grown out Acropora, Stylophora, and Montipora (Digitata and Capricornis) not to mention numerous mushrooms (best use) and caulerpa.
I made some simple modifications to the fixture (drilled vent holes in the back) so it would last longer. It appears they maintain their intensity for about a year. After that I guess you could still use it as a shoplight.
On the downside it's but(t) ugly and really hot.
On the plus side it's REALLY bright and very cheap.
For a display I would think Kickster's fixture would be hard to beat for a nano.

kickster,
I am interested in your light. Can you give me a price I would be able to buy it for or where I might be able to find one at? Do you think it would fit on a ten gallon or would it be to large? I guess if it is too small I could just get a 20 gallon as well.

The only place i've seen them is at my work and they are 250. I rmeasured the light today and its dimensions are 16x12x3.s so no it would be just a little to big. im putting mine on a 20 butit isnt a standard 20. off hand i dont know the dim of a reg 20 gal or 20 high. This light is a good deal b/c it comes w/ a fan anf 4-32w PCbulbs. The only bad thing is that it comes w/ all white bulbs os blue is seperate.
