I am hoping in the near future these things come down in price, kind a like new electronics tend to do. I guess in the long run these lights would pay for themselves with us having to change T5 every 9 to 12 months.

the bulbs are expensive because of their design. they have their own heatsinks which is part of the price. the bulbs will last much longer than t5's. i see fixtures like this becoming more popular in the future

LOL....I can see why....I could buy the 72" light fixture and 1 bulb.....hahahahahaha
I would LOVE to have something like that over the 225G That is if it would work on a 30" deep tank

leds penetrate better than t5s or mh provided they use the right optics. my ati fixture hits 250 par 30" deep so im pretty sure theyll do well. but would i choose these fixtures over a AI fixture, probably not.
