im wondering if i can use this in my eheim canister filter, i have 2 bags of purigen, i use one and re-charge one and swap those out every month,so one bag of purgen and one bag of chemipure in my canister, would this be overkill
There is no such thing as over kill interms of filtration IMHO. But one bag of purigen will last 6 months. I say do that ever 3 months but once a month is over doing it.
I doubt it, but you may want to look into how much flow your canister has, and if it's too much for the purigen. I give up on my 29, because the tiny beads kept wearing a hole in the bag and eventually the cannister would split out beads into the DT.

There are different types of filtration. IMHO, it's okay to say things like it's hard to overskim, one thing that is known, is that overuse of activated carbon has been linked to HLLE problems in Tangs and Angels.
cool guys thanks for the replies, i change out the filter pad every month so i have to access the canister so i just change out the bag of purigen for the recharged one and replace the filter pad, again im going off of what the lfs guy whom i trust and have built up a pretty good relationship with but if you guys think i should just leave the one bag in for 6 months then i will but its worked just fine for me so far
I use 4 bags of the 11 oz. chemipure elite in my canister. Love the stuff, 10x better than regular carbon. I run my reef old school, no sump,no refugium. Just regular water changes, good circulation, and natural disease and algae fighters.
