I was possibly interested in eventually getting a chevron tang, but wanted some info. Does anyone know about how big they will get and are they compatable with either a blue hippo or yellow tang?

should be safe withthe hippo but you would need to put the chevron in first with the yellow.
good luck finding one very tough to come by.
also know they lose all that bright orange as adults.
i had a chance at one last month but passed because i dont like the adults color.

Im glad you mentioned that they lose the bright orange as adults cuz that does make a difference. Does it just turn to a duller orange?

i have an 8 inch achilles ,5 inch purple and a 6 inch fowleri tang .
the achilles didnt like when i added the fowleri i almost thought i had to remove the fowleri but now they swim together like buds.
as long as you feed them a veriety of foods with garlic and vitamines and keep them stress free and have great water then no problem.
i did see you have a 55 gllon tank and i wouldnt put a tang in a tank less than 6 foot long or they will be stressed.they get a little ich once in awhile but it goes away in a few days.
although you could get a 90 gallon for a few years with a couple 2-3 inch tangs ten move up to a 180+

I need to update my profile. I now have a 135 with a 55 sump. I wanted to def. get 2 tangs...yellow and blue hippo, but was also thinking of a 3rd. Would those 2 be ok with an achilles?

i dont see why not but you will eventually have to get a bigger tank.
i have a 225 and the achilles looks like he could use more room.
i would put the hippo and achilles in first then the yellow last since he is the most aggressive.
