**chicago Area*** Live Rock?

Wow, forgot buying LR at my LFS. Called at least 10 places, one place even quoted me $15.99 a lb. Unreal. I only need 18lbs so if anyone on here is in the city, skokie, or anywhere between skokie and chicago let me know if you can hook me up.
I'm looking to spend about 60$ for the 18lbs but I would like really premium rock, with tons of coraline algae. Paying LFS 10+$ a lb for not even premium rock is ridiculous.
I even went to one store which said they had premium for $4.99 a lb, drove like 30 minutes out of my way, got there and the rock was absolute garbage. I didn't even bother giving the owner, whom i spoke to over the phone, a second of my time to b**** him out. Never again LFS, never again. haha.

Hit up your local craigslist. ALWAYS live rock for sale in almost every major city.
Don't rush coralline. It comes quickly once a tank is set up properly. Pic your shape to match your design. Hickers are important but come secondary.

Hey man, thanks for the timely reply. Been on craigslist unfortunately theres nothing out there right now. There was a couple postings, but it has all sold due to the really low price. I am mixing salt water right now to get my tank up and running tomorrow after work
was planning on scooping up some LR and LS on my way home from work and getting this bad boy rollin. It may have to be delayed!

I bought most of my LR online from an unnamed website. I know some people on this forum don't like it, but I think I got some nice rock for only about $3.50 shipped.

Since you have more time then money, wait it out. Keep an eye out or save up a bit more , then make the buy.

do some searches for local reef clubs im sure theres one in your area. and put a post up on one im sure some one will be able to help ya out

The best stuff I got was from Chicago reptile, but it wasn't cheap! I haven't found any good AND cheap. I'm pretty far south anyway. Good luck
