chili coral

i got this last wednesday and it hasnt stood up yet
has color but does not stand up it lays on the rock...
is it ok?

chili corals are notorious for staying closed for long periods of time. plus they dont like light so it may be opening up at night when the lights go off. they are best suited for under ledges and in caves. they can get covered in algae quickly which will cause them not to open up.

Most all nonphotosynthetic corals are recomended to have flow directed at them to help combat the build up of algea and other debris. Also to force the water column past the coral offering nutrients when ever possible.
