Chiller SUPRISE Benefit!

Now that I installed my chiller I hardly have any water loss from evaporation. I was losing 3 gallons
per day due to evaporation and also due to having 3 - 120mm fans running 24/7. A little added bonus from the chiller.
Now I might have to use those 3 fans to vent the hot air from the closet I put the chiller in.

My bill is already ridiculous.... but I may be stimulating the U.S. economy with the cost of my bill.

A louvered door on that closet will help out big time.
Yes Dave..you would be correct.....however the closet in question is right when you walk in the front door ( the coat closet) and it has mirrored doors on it...so I am considering a vent/fan option to remove the hot air or pump in cool air to the closet.
The coat closet does NOT have an AC vent like ALL the other closets.
I may be able to "rig" up an AC vent for the coat closet though...

I put a small chiller on my 55 gal tank recently, and yeah, evap is way down! I placed it in the same room as the tank and of course, it heats up the living room but hey, it's all about the fish/corals isn't it?
I see problems with having it in the closet-the efficiency of any refrigeration unit will decrease as the temperature differential between the condensor coil and the ambient temp sorounding it decreases. That alone can cause your chiller to use a bunch more electricity. Of course, that begs the question-where does that excess heat go? Eventually your house chiller (A/C) will have to remove the heat from the chiller.
