SO I am thinking of a 1/10 PH chiller for my 75 gallon reef tank. I see both prime and pacific coast have good reveiws and are similarily price. Anyone out there have any experience with either or any thoughts. This would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i have not used any of those but IMO the only chiller i would ever purchase is an aqualogic. look them up. they have fair prices on ---- and can be found used for great prices as well. IMO the only way to get a better chiller is to build one yourself which for most people is not cost effective
lol. a used aqualogic costs twice as much as a any other manufactures brand new models. im not saying they're not good, im just saying their prices are sky high.

you get what you pay for. they will out last and out perform anything out there right now. if you want a chiller that you can rely on for many many years that is your best choice. i sold one of mine used last year for only 450 bucks. I run four of the 1HP models and LOVE them. they also use quite a bit less power then any other available
I have used Pacific Coast, but that doesn't mean that the 5 I used will hold up for you the same, LOL. My Pacific Coasts were running great for a long time.
I have heard good things about the Pacific Coast chillers. I only live in New York so it's not like it's going to be cracnking for months on end to keep my tank cool. Average temp over summer is about 77-80 for my area. I read a bunch of reveiws on that premium site and everyone loves it and says it's way under rated for tank size. Thanks candy cane.
I have an AquaEuroUsa 1/10 hp chiller on my 72 bowfront, lighting is 2x250 MH and the chiller works great. The chiller was reasonably priced also. Good luck.
