Chocolate Chip Starfish

I was going to feed Patrick, but when I went over to the tank I noticed that he had already evicerated on the top part of my heater!
Do they eat algae, or do I just have a strange starfish? I thought that they were meat eaters, and I was about to give him one of his meaty pellets that he likes so much.
Any ideas? Maybe he was just REALLY hungry today and didn't want to wait on me to get home from work???

Chip does that too sometimes....not the heater, but it seems if he has been munching on something his stomach takes awhile to get back in. I can see it on the glass.
Maybe there was something there that you couldn't see.

I have two chocolate chips and mine eat krill and dried seaweed. If the tang does not eat the seaweed fast enough the star fish will eat it all. I have not seen mine really eat much algea but it could because they are eating so much seaweed.

Eric Estrada Chips...get it? anyway, mine ate algae, shrimp....even hopped on some flake food that made it to the bottom. Basically, whatever he could hop on, he would eat.
