i have a cc star and it is getting fuzzy/hairy on top... is this normal??? its short white fuzz is the best i can do for an explination and my camera isnt good enough to get a pic... what should i do... nitrates are a little high and sp is at 1.026 but other than that water is good... what should i do???

I've noticed some of the same on mine, hopefully its nothing.
He's on the front of my tank, i fed him a peace of shrimp and i've been watching him eat it all day. ***)

I just got one and it is fuzzy too. But of course my LFS is not ideal living conditions for anything. Will have to wait and see. They usually eat sponges. In captivity are opportunistic predator, eating corals, anemones etc.

when my cc star is on the close side of the glass, he'll often come to the top and bend his top leg to the surface. I sit a piece of raw or dried shrimp, or krill, or crab, or seaweed, or anything on his leg and he grabs it and goes to town.....

At first i wasn't sure if mine was eating or not. I would have food on the bottom of my tank and i would put him on top if it. Now i hand feed him.
He usually spends most of his time on the glass and up on the surface of the water. Just like dchec2100 stated above. I picked up an assortment pack at the grocery(walmart). It has shimp, squid, octopus, mussels, crab....i have only fed him shimp so far, i also fed him a few dried shrimp. I hold it next to his leg and he just goes for it.

CC stars are carnivors, not algae grazers. They need to be fed meaty foods.

I put down a peice of krill under him and he didn't even want it,,,he went on the rocks
i have had him for a bout a week now and this is the first day i had fed him krill, the lfs store said that they don't feed them any thing
