Chomp! ???

Hi all,
I have been having some strange problems recently in my tank.
Today, I found my two ornamental shrimp chomped in half and I am puzzled as to why.
Here is (or was) my tank stock:
1. Lemon Peel Angel
2. Royal Gramma
3. 2 Clowns (tank bred)
4. Blennie
5. Fire Shrimp (RIP)
6. Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (RIP)
I also had a green chromis who died a week ago as well as a baby hippo tang which appeared to be nipped in the belly and died.
I hav assorted snails (turbo, bumble) and a few small blue legged crabs (no bigger than a dime).
Now, I suspect that the Lemon Peel Angel may be the cause of this disaster. I thought the Lemon Peel was peaceful but I am aware that it is an omniv species.
Anyone have any ideas? Is an angel fish aggressive towards certain fish or inverts?
Tank has been up for over 9 months and I know of no hidden critters like bristles or mantis...
Thanks,
C

Wat kinda blenny? Ya never no with those buggers. Killafins managed to have one that killed a seahorse of his... It could be the angel, but my bet is on the clowns (how big, and do they host an anemone?) cuz they can get territorial, and mind u, they have some scary looking chompers if u look real close.

Lawnmower blennies are known to attack seahorses and pipefish, never keep them together.
i doubt it was the clowns, i suspect the angel. its hit or miss with angels and inverts. another possibilty could be that the shrimp died and you're hermits ate the remains. What are your water readings?

Sorry...been away for a bit in real life.
The tank water conditions have been perfect since Feb of this year. The shrimp went in around that time and have been quite comfortable and happy. Readings on the day of their demise were within good limits.
The blennie that I have is a bi-color...he does not appear aggressive.
My guess if the lemonpeel angel fish. It is quite clear that the shrimps were chomped in half and he has the mouth size to do it.
The crabs biting them in half after they died is another possibility however, i think there would have been other signs of feeding on the bodies.
I want to put shrimp back in so would you all recommend me getting rid of the lemonpeel?
Thanks.
Chris
