My Wife and I are taking our four children and there spouses on a 5 day cruse in February. So I told my wife that I am making my Christmas list up for them
1 New light MH and Vho or compact not sure
LFS Gift certificates and lots of them

Any suggestions on the lighting would like to put anything I decide in the tank Fish Hard + Soft Corals All of it

You got the giggling guys so I hope your kidding. You can't ask them to get you those kinda lights because you got them a cruise... or can you?? :thinking:
Any way, just get the minimum best. 250 watt halides. with vho actinic.
I say this cause I had the 175 halides and my corals turned brown, my anemone wasn't happy and my clam started bleaching. So just avoid all the upgrades and get the 250's.

No I cant but I can let my wife know that is what I want would get it any way so make it a gift and she and the kids are off the hook. Plus no Shirts or socks.

Don't you hate getting gifts that your gonna buy for yourself anyway? Shirts and socks...

May as well buy some shampoo and some shaving cream while they're at it...

Tizzo what size tank do you have for the 250s? I just ordered a 175x2 halide fixture with 2 96 watt compact florecents thats 542 watts and its a 55 gallon tank.. do you think the corals will still turn brown?

My tank is a 90. 24 inches tall. Not sure how yours will do. Some people have great luck with 175's.

Go with the 250's!!!!!!! I think it's a fair trade lights for cruise and no shirts, or socks.....Sounds like a real winner
