christmas wrasse

i have a christmas wrasse in my reef it doeas something that i have not been able to fuuly view. It somehow blasts a hole is my sandbed looking for food. Does anybody know how it does it?

Halichoeres sp. do bury in the sand to sleep and when spooked, not sure if they stir the sand to feed....

They blow water at the sand. They were almost impossible to count at the warehouse. They'd all be buried, I'd have to stir them up with the net hanle then they'd whip around so much all you could see was a sand cloud.
