He would be completely fine. Especially in a FOWLR. Though they are also great reef candidates because they are know for not eating inverts. and being almost as reef safe as yellow wrasse!

They're actually KNOWN for eating small inverts and parasites on both fish and corals. They can aggravate smaller fish, but usually it's a non issue.
They will eat small snails, especially pyramidal snails, that are harmful to clams.
They only big requirement, is you have to have at least 2 inches of SAND substrate for the, because they sleep and hide in the sand bed.

Ok thank u. I was all good w requirements. Went to get um yest and it seemed he may have had a spot or two of ich. I hate fish stores that run so many tanks on the same system. One tank gets it they all do!!!. I may try and have one ordered. Of the wrasse I've looked at they are both colorful and mostly docile

Christmas wrasse are great fish - hearty and peaceful. This was the first saltwater fish I ever had, and that was 37 years ago. It lived for 2 years, at a time when if a marine fish lived for two months people came from all around to see how you were doing it. I still miss that fish.

Aww. That sounds like my kinda fish. With so many options u think it b easy to pick fish. But since my clowns and gramma, I haven't. Seen a must have fish, til the Christmas. A mandarin and coral beauty are def coming but the tank needs to age a bit more for them.

Yes. Most of the time they're a non issue and they're fine. But they are known for eating SMALL inverts, especially parasitic ones. In that way, they can be a really great addition to a reef tank, but sometimes they will go after shrimp as well. When they clean smaller fish, looking for parasites, it can scare or aggravate them.
