Be forewarned.
If these guys arn't abusing themselfs, they're ganging up on their tankmates. They really don't like the Niger trigger I introduced yesterday. Someting tells me in the near future the tables will shift.:D

The devil they are!!! When I had chromis they were constantly harassing my firefish and pink bar goby to no end resulting in hardly ever seeing the other fish.

Please please please do not use live fish to cycle your tank. You can produce the required ammonia by just tossing a raw shrimp in your tank to start the process.

Go ahead and TRY to catch 'em later. You wind up either trying to set a trap or tearing your whole tank apart and getting wet up to your shoulder.

As far as chromis go, we have a couple huge ones and have never had any trouble with ours harassing other fish.

Are you talking about the green chromis? They look so innocent, I was planning on adding a foursome. Should I save up for the cardinals instead?

If you are wanting schooling fish, you should know that cardinals only school as juveniles. Once they reach adulthood, they pair up into mated pairs and if there is more than one male in tank, they will fight.

I have 3 Green Chromis. I didn't buy them to cycle a tank, I bought them because they are actally a cool fish and school well. I buy cheap fish, they live longer
. I just have to disagree on them being peaceful. Like I said earlier, they bicker amongst themselfs and if one of them doesnt like one of their tankmates, the 3 of them automatically don't . Comical to watch.

Yeah, they are between 4-5 inches, by my estimate. It's hard to get them to sit still so I can measure. :D
Not a great pic... but here they are... Tweedledee and Tweedledumb

Tyr: Your three look great! We had a third, but my husband accidentally dropped a rock on him/her when he was rearranging things awhile back.

Bang: No spawning events for us... not even any spawning behavior. I think we might have two females...

Yeah, no spawning here either. For some reason 2 pair off a bit more though. They all have their own individual sleeping spots to which is actually what they are defensive about. The problem is it spands across the entire 6 feet of the tank. One claimed a hole on the left, one in the center, one on the right. lol

i wasnt going to use them to cycle the tank. I was going to cycle it and have those be the 1st type of fish i put in to see if they live. then i will add other fish. I agree that they look pretty though i was think of 3 of them. What kind r they in the pics? blue chromis or green?
