For my first fish in my tank I'm working on getting up and running...I'm thinking 5 small damsels to start getting everything going...
Do you think Blue Reef Chromis or Green Chromis for a small school of fish to kick it off....
I would like the Greens..but they don't seem to be real bright....more blueish green to me...can anyone comment on this..
Thanks for your opinions...

I have never seen the blue reef chromis here but they do look pretty. I love the green chromis and when they swim around you get green, blue shimmers from them. I guess it depends on what you really want to look at.

My initial thought was doing a small school of the green chromis...but when I was searching through SWF I saw the blue reef and thought they looked good as well.
Also, I really want to get smaller ones, and the Greens from SWF say they can be up to 2 in...
Do you know when I order if can request smaller fish in the given size range or do you just get what you get?
Thanks

I would say that you should ask this question in the "Ask SWF.com" forum section. As for advice on which chromi, I can offer a bit of help. The Blue/Green Chromis tend to be more attractive and swim around the middle of the aquarium. That is why they are more popular. However, The Blue Reef Chromis are a little more peaceful and swim around the top of the aquarium. If you have any "shy" fish, the behavior of the Blue Reef Chromis will help encourage them to swim openly in the tank. Both have a lifespan of about 10 years in a well maintained aquarium. Good luck with your decision.
