What is the minimum number of Chromis fish that can be kept together?
Can two be kept together successfuly or even one or should they only be kept in groups of three or more?
Thanks!

one can be just as easily kept as three or four ..the fish is normally happier when it has others like itself to school with but one or two will live fine in a tank.

So two is better than three? Is two better than one? I am thinking it is.
I only have a 29G so anything more than 3 is not an option.

i've seen them in schools of up to 300, but this was in the wild. in a tank that size i would go for 2. what else are you planning on adding to the tank. chromins can and do get up to 3 inches long when they mature.

i would get at least 2. i started out with one and all he did was hide in the corner behind the heater and never came out. once i added a 2nd they were out all the time and never hide until i turn the lights out. we went to a bigger tank and added a 3rd and they all get along great.
