i was looking for schooling fish so i was wondering how many i should put in my tank

Your tank is fine how it is but maybe 2 or 3.

to get a solid answer we need to know how big your tank is and what you already have in there. I was told you always want a odd number though. I have 7 in my 55 gallon

if thats all you wanted you could handle 5. It depends on how much (if any) LR you have and if your tank can handle a bioload of 5 fish.

you probably won't get the schooling to happen in a 29.

Chromis are damsels. If fed properly they grow quickly and get big. 5 Chromis in a 29 gallon will cause havoc on your biofiltration.
I would suggest looking at a pair of Firefish or couple of Cardinalfish.

I have 5 in a 100g and they school.

i have 25 fish in a 240 so far, 6 of them are damsels, 3 chromis and 3 blue reef chromis and they are schooling
