How big is the clam? Don't use a baster, and don't use anything like oyster eggs or cyclopeeze, these aren't a clam's normal food, and are too large and will clog the gills. If you want, you can take the clam out of the tank, put it in a small dish, and add some DTs (not a lot, just enough to give the water a green tint), and let the clam filter the water for a bit.

Don't use the baster. Clams in the wild are adapted to live in clean water conditions, and the concentration of food from 'force feeding' with a baster can overload their gills, even with small particulate foods.
Your clam is big enough that it doesn't really need to be fed anyways.

I assume DTs, cyclopeese and oyster eggs are ok in a mass tank feeding aren't they? My tanks are packed and it gets all over.

I don't target feed, either. I add the stuff at night, when the polyps are out, and let things filter feed. Like with fish, you just have to make sure you don't overfeed with the stuff.
