if i place a clam on a rock and would like to move it but it has attached it's foot already can i just pull it off or cut off the foot and will it grow back? or will it hurt the clam enough for it to die?
Be careful of the foot! Do not pull it off, you'll damage the byssal gland and you'll kill the clam. I don't let mine attach to large rocks. But if I HAD to remove one I would cut the threads with a razor. Be careful not to pull on the threads!

Oh ok, so if i use a razor blade to cut off the foot it will grow back and the clam should be fine?
