Clam HELP!

look for tiny snails ont he clam, they wont rip it appart though. there are too manyt higns that would do it such as pepermint/cleaner shrimp, or tons of fish. id suggest making another thread so you can tell everyone what you have.

Ok yeah there were about 5-6 small snails on the inside of the clam after it was dead i figured they were just eating the dead flesh? And, I have a blood shrimp and some peppermint shrimp. I was under the impression that these wouldn't harm anything. Since when do these shrimp kill clams. Thanks for the info. How could snails do it either when the clams close so fast.

the snails could be pyramid snails. they are a parasite that will eventualy kill the clam. they enter through the mantal or i believe they can even evter through the foot. cleaner shrimps are known for picking at clams. not all will. its like a dwarf angel. its a hit or miss.
