Clam people. Should I sweat this???

The thing was about 8 inches to the right of this rock on the sand about 24 hours ago. Now look at it. I dont know how, I dont want to know how. He just got up on the rock and has a pretty good strong hold on the thing. And I know there is NO WAY I am supposed to try to remove him. So whats the deal? I dont want him to hurt himself and look at the top of his mantle, its folded weird too which kind of worries me. Maybe just because he is vertical instead of horizontal now???

There it is. If you think the hair algae is bad now, you should have seen it 3 days ago. I didnt touch it, it is just sort of falling out. This tanks has been established for some time. But I had a HUGE ammonia surge about 3 weeks ago because of a HUGE amount of bristleworms dying.
