i have a MH with 3x175w 10,000k MH bulbs and 2x96 actintic 03 pc bulbs, i have heard i cant keep maximas and i think it was either a desera or crocea, my tank is 28 inches deep if i were to put it on a rock about 4-6 inches high would i be able to get one

you can keep anything you like you have good lighting

but someone told me i wouldnt be able to keep maximas, even the guy at my lfs said that, i think

if your water is good and good movement you will be fine cal needs to be 400 + buy one over 3"

It may be possible to keep a squamosa and/or derasa lower in your display. Maximas would need to be placed higher due to your lighting...but it could be done. I'd suggest starting with a squamosa and developing a experience base from that....
