It all depends on the type you got. I know my croceas like to be attached to some sort of rock.. Not sure about the others....I scraped out a cup in some soft rock and they attached within a matter of hours.
They are beautiful creatures, enjoy....

Feeding depends on size... Clams smaller than 3 inches depend on planktons in the water more than light. Bigger clams just the opposite.

So would you say that clams are easier to care for than anemone's?
Our LFS has some small clams, beautiful blue color and all. These types are the filter feeder ones?
Do they ever eat flaked food that is floating in the tank at all or is there a type of plankton you put into the water for them?

i would say if you could keep a clam you woudl be able to keep a anemone. they are similar in care level since a lot depends on the lighting. Just that anemnes eat meaty foods and clams only eat plankton.

if the clam is small you need to spot feed it. once it is over about 4-5 in (shell size) it doesnt need to be feed as long as it gets a good amount of light. anemones need a lot of light as well and need to be feed meaty foods.
