I see a beautiful clam that I like to get. The fish store said it would be OK with my power compact light even though I heard clams need meta hilite. Anyone has successfully kept clams with power compact? Thanks in advance for you inputs

Depends on the INTENSITY of the light. PC's are fine if the clam is getting enought light. Have a great day!

I have 2 clams in each of my three tanks. I use VHO lighting for each. I have had some of them for as long as 5 years. No problems

I have a derese under pc lighting and it is placed on the substrate.
Lighting depends on the type of clam also. Deresa require less light then a maxima for example.
Also they do not need to be placed on the substrate but they do like a secure spot to call home. ;)

I've kept a corcea clam with 220wts of PC lighting for the last 6 months in my 50 gal. I keep it high up on the rocks so it gets lots of light and the colors have remained very vibrant.
