id say at least 8 months to a year with a very good lighting system.

what about the semi-ugly squamaso or watever, i heard they don't need super lights.

I have a clam in one tank.But I did not get it till my tank had been up over a year.Im getting another tank up and running and just wondered how long before i could put a clam in.I have the light now I just need to wait .
